At a concert or game, your seat is one destination. The pickup point you need to reach afterward is another. Planning both gives you a clearer path from the first entrance queue to the ride home.
For wheelchair transportation to Climate Pledge Arena, start with the event date, ticket location, and the help you want. Share those details with the venue and the transportation provider so the vehicle, entrance, and route through the building fit together.
Check the seat before choosing the entrance
The arena's accessibility guide distinguishes wheelchair spaces from semi-ambulatory seating, which involves one to three steps. Both may appear when filtering for accessible tickets. Review the specific ticket before purchase and ask Guest Services if the seating arrangement is unclear.
Tell the venue whether you will remain in your own wheelchair and whether companions are attending. Ask which entrance and route work for your ticket, including any elevator needed. Save that entrance with the ride details instead of using only the arena's general address.
If you already have tickets and discover an access concern, contact the venue before travel. Give yourself time to resolve the seating question before confirming transportation around an unsuitable entrance or section.
Choose the drop-off with the driver and venue
The arena guide lists limited-mobility drop-off areas along 1st Avenue North and near Republican and Warren. Have the venue and operator confirm the exact point for your event and the assigned vehicle.
Describe the space needed for boarding or unloading and any assistance between the vehicle and the entrance. Ask what happens if traffic staff redirect the driver or the agreed location is occupied. Keep the operator's contact number available so a change can be resolved before you leave the vehicle.
The Seattle Department of Transportation's arena travel blog recommends allowing extra travel time around large events. Seattle Center's transportation page links to road-work and closure information. Recheck those resources near the event date, and have your operator review conditions affecting its route.
Connect vehicle assistance to help inside
Climate Pledge Arena describes wheelchair escort service from its entry doors to seating, available in order of arrival. Its wheelchairs are not loaned for the full event. Ask Guest Services how assistance will work for you, including the journey back toward your exit.
Identify who helps between the drop-off point and the entrance. A companion, driver, and venue staff member may each have a different role. Our assistance guide can help turn that discussion into specific tasks.
Carry the equipment and personal items you expect to use, and check the venue's current entry policies for anything that needs clarification. If you plan to use your own mobility device throughout the evening, include it in the vehicle review along with companion seating and belongings.
Make the return pickup its own reservation
Ask whether the arrival drop-off can also be used for pickup after the event. Confirm a permitted meeting location and the route from your seat to that point. Avoid assuming the driver can wait beside whichever exit you happen to use.
A scheduled game or concert start does not give you an exact departure time. Discuss the return process with the operator before booking:
- Timing: is pickup fixed, requested when ready, or arranged another way?
- Changes: whom do you contact if the event finishes later or you want to leave early?
- Waiting: where can you wait comfortably, and when will you move to the vehicle?
- Price: how do waiting time or changes affect the quote?
Allow for reaching the exit, using an elevator if needed, and moving through the departing crowd. Agree on what “ready for pickup” means with your provider. Send that update when you reach the agreed stage of departure.
Save a plan that works after the final song
Keep the meeting instructions and contact numbers accessible, and decide who in your party will communicate with the driver. If a phone loses power or a message fails, know the backup contact method. Ask venue staff for help locating the agreed exit if needed.
For outdoor waiting, use our Seattle rain and winter ride guide. If dinner or another stop is part of the evening, confirm that itinerary with the provider too; our accessible outing guide can help connect the stops.
Before event day: confirm suitable seating, save the entrance, agree on assistance, and record the return meeting point and change process. With those details settled, you can give more of your attention to the game or performance you came to enjoy.
